On June 23^rd 2016 the UK voted to leave the European Union, but has not yet triggered article 50 of the Lisbon treaty, ruling the request to leave the EU by a member state. Negotiations between the UK and the European Union will start only after the triggering of article 50 and will be concluded within 2 years.

At the end of such period, the legislative process will be defined, also with regards to the management of IP titles.
