The Republic of the Philippines has acceded to the International Trademark convention

On 25 April 2012 the Republic of the Philippines has acceded to the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks.

The Madrid Protocol (1989) will enter into force, with respect to the Republic of the Philippines, on 25 July 2012.

Currently the countries which have signed the Convention to the Madrid Agreement and Protocol are as follows:
Albania, Algeria, Antigua and Barbuda, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Belarus, Benelux, Bhutan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Botswana, Bulgaria, China, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, Estonia, European Union, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, People's Democratic Republic of Korea, Republic of Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lesotho, Liberia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Republic of Macedonia, Madagascar, Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Norway, Oman, Republic of the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, San Marino, Sao Tome and Principe, Serbia, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sudan, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Syrian Arab Republic, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Kingdom, United States of America, Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Zambia.
